Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does GCA offer any scholarship programs?
Q: Is GCA accredited?
A: GCA, like many Christian schools, is not accredited. State or regional accreditation is not required or necessary for religious schools. Most colleges and universities consider the performance of individual students, not the accreditation of their school, as the main criteria for acceptance.,
Q: Do credits earned at GCA transfer to other schools?
A: In our 26 years of operation, we have found that academic credits earned transfer easily to public schools as well as to other Christian schools. Credits earned in Bible or other classes directly related to the Bible do not transfer to public schools. GCA requires 22 academic credits in addtion to Bible for graduation from high school, to ensure that course requirements are met for most school districts.
Q: My child was expelled from their former school. Will this prevent himfrom being enrolled at GCA?
A: Not necessarily. We use several factors to determine enrollment eligibility, including the student's personal desire for a Christian education, the willingness of parents to cooperate with our program, and the reason why he or she was expelled. We also invest time in prayer and consideration before we extend an invitation to enroll to any student. However, we are not a reform school. Please keep this in mind as you consider options for your child.
Q: Does GCA enroll special-needs children?
A: We evaluate each prospective student on an individual basis, and, when we are capable of helping them, do enroll certain special-needs kids. However, we are not generally equipped to instruct special-needs children.
Q: Do you offer Kindergarten and First Grade?
A: Yes, when there is sufficient demand for the classes.
Q: How large is GCA? How about your facilities?
A: We are a small Christian school in enrollment, but not in the scope or rigor of our program. Our enrollment varies considerably; we have operated with as few as four students and as many as 40 students. Our commitment to Christian education is not based on the size of the student body or the amount collected in tuition. As far as facilities are concerned, our parent church is in transition, seeking to sell its present property and establish a new physical plant. While the facilities are modest, they are clean and functional.
Q: Do you have a dress code?
A: Yes. Our dress code emphasizes modesty and a clean-cut look for girls and boys while still remaining casual. On certain days, students are required to wear business/church attire.
