Our Educational Program
GCA partners with the home and church to train our students in mind, body, and spirit.
Mind
Our students use the A Beka Book curriculum. A Beka Book is well-known for its scholarly excellence and its thoroughly Christian content and perspective. Master teachers from Pensacola Christian Academy instruct our students via DVD in most classes. This is done under the direct guidance of our own degreed faculty. In several high school courses, our teachers instruct the class in person.
Body
Our students participate in physical education and health classes taught from a Christian perspective. High school students fulfill all state-mandated physical education requirements. While we do not offer interscholastic athletics at this time, we will consider adding it in the future.
Spirit
All students receive daily instruction in Bible as well as attend chapel services during the week. Dynamic, powerful preacher exalt the truths of God's Word in our chapels. In addition, biblical truths are interwoven into the content of every class. Many students take part in optional spiritual activities such as prayer meeting, outreach work, and personal witnessing for the Lord.
Enrolling in GCA
Step 1
Pick up an application packet at any of the regularly-scheduled services of Gateway Baptist Church. You may also
contact us or leave a phone message with your name and address to have a packet mailed to you.
Step 2
Upon receiving a completed application and processing fee, a parent-student interview with a school administrator will be scheduled. This meeting is typically 30-45 minutes in length. During the meeting, we will explain our program in greater detail, as well as answer any questions you may have about our school.
Step 3
Following the interview, final status concerning your application will be determined by our school board. Decisions are typically made within five days of the interview.
Upon acceptance, transcripts will be obtained, any necessary diagnostic testing will be done, and the curriculum and registration fees will be collected. If acceptance occurs after August 10, the first tuition payment is collected as well. A brief meeting with a school representative to review school uniforms and the supply list will be scheduled as well.
